A 3 hour tour... and another saree....

Part 1:
Actually, our tour was 2 hours, but I was reminded of the Gilligan's Island theme song. We went on the back waters of Kollam today in a small wooden boat. It was an interesting way to see how people live along the water. We were able to stop and meet with some of the locals like the woman attached in the picture. She was making coir, which is a rope made out of dried coconut husks.

Part 2:
We had a combined rotary meeting tonight and our gracious hostess Usha provided sarees for us to wear. It was beautiful, but a bit hot inside all that fabric. I imagine Indian women get used to wearing them and are able to maneuver quite well. I spent the evening trying not to trip.
